My name is Christie Whitehead, founder and creator of Herb & Mint Soapery. My journey into handcrafted, essential self-care products began while I was searching for a deeper sense of inner peace and balance. What started as a personal pursuit soon grew into a passion for creating thoughtfully made products that others genuinely love and return to time and time again.
In 2018, Herb & Mint Soapery—formerly Christie’s Soap Co.—was born in my converted garage. Since then, I have continued to grow, create, and refine each product with care and intention. I often reflect on how far this journey has taken me—from someone who once struggled to draw a straight line with a ruler to a creator of products that consistently exceed my own expectations and those of my customers.
I am a native Texan, born and raised in South Dallas, where I also attended high school, college and was taught how to make soap by my Great- Grandmother. By profession, I am a social worker, and by heart, a creator. I am also a proud mother and aunt to three beautiful girls. While life is often busy, the act of creating has become a peaceful and grounding space for me. I enjoy exploring new ideas and am never afraid to experiment with innovative formulations. Many of the ingredients I use are familiar, everyday elements—some rooted in traditions where they were once edible. I strongly believe that nature provides everything we need to thrive; it is simply a matter of understanding how to responsibly and thoughtfully harness its benefits.
